The Pula appreciated against the pound sterling (1.9 percent), the rand (0.4 percent), US dollar (0.2 percent) and yen (0.2 percent), but depreciated against the Chinese yuan (1.6 percent) and euro (1.1 percent) in August. In the twelve months to August 2017, the Pula appreciated against the yen (14.1 percent), pound sterling (8.1 percent) and US dollar (6.6 percent) while depreciating against the rand (4.2 percent) and remained unchanged for the euro.
