The Pula depreciated by 0.3 percent against the South African rand and appreciated by 0.1 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR) over the one-month period to September 2023. It appreciated by 2.5 percent against the British pound, 1.8 percent against the euro and 0.8 percent against the Japanese yen, while it depreciated by 1.4 percent against the Chinese renminbi and 1.3 percent against the US dollar.

Over the twelve months period to September 2023, the nominal Pula exchange rate appreciated by 2.6 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 5.4 percent against the SDR. Against the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated by 13.9 percent each against the British pound, 10.8 percent against the euro, 2.2 percent against the US dollar and 1 percent against the Chinese renminbi, while it appreciated by 0.7 percent against the Japanese yen.
