The Pula depreciated by 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent against the South African rand and the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR), respectively, over the one-month period to October 2023. It depreciated by 0.4 percent against the euro, and 0.2 percent against the US dollar, while it appreciated by 0.6 percent against the Japanese yen, 0.5 percent against the British pound and 0.3 percent against the Chinese renminbi.
Over the twelve months period to October 2023, the nominal Pula exchange rate appreciated by 1.4 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 4.2 percent against the SDR. Against the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated by 8.3 percent euro, 6.7 percent against the British pound, 2.2 percent against the US dollar, 1.8 percent against the Chinese renminbi and 0.6 percent against the Japanese yen.
