The Pula appreciated by 1 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 1.2 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR) over the one-month period to September 2021. The Pula depreciated against all the SDR constituent currencies. It depreciated by 1.9 percent against the US dollar, 1.8 percent against the Chinese renminbi, 0.7 percent against the euro, 0.5 percent against the Japanese yen and 0.1 percent against the British pound.
Over the twelve months period to September 2021, the nominal Pula exchange rate depreciated by 9.1 percent against the South African rand and appreciated by 2.7 percent against the SDR. Against the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula appreciated by 9 percent against the Japanese yen, 3.3 percent against the US dollar and 3.2 percent against the euro, while it depreciated by 2.1 percent against the Chinese renminbi and 2 percent against the British pound.
