The Pula appreciated by 0.6 percent against the South African rand and depreciated by 0.9 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR) over the one-month period to August 2022. It depreciated by 2.5 percent against the US dollar, 0.3 percent against the euro and 0.2 percent against the Chinese yuan, while it appreciated by 2.1 percent against the British pound and 1.9 percent against the Japanese yen.
Over the twelve months period to August 2022, the nominal Pula exchange rate depreciated by 5.4 percent against the SDR and appreciated by 0.4 percent against the South African rand. Against the SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated by 13.4 percent against the US dollar and 7.4 percent against the Chinese yuan, while it appreciated by 9.2 percent against the Japanese yen, 2.4 percent against the British pound and 2.2 percent against the euro.
