Over the one-month period to October 2025, the Pula depreciated by 0.9 percent against the South African rand. In contrast, the domestic currency appreciated by 0.4 percent against the IMF Special Drawing Rights (SDR). During the review period, the Pula appreciated by 2.7 percent against the Japanese yen, 1.4 percent against the British pound and 0.7 percent against the euro, while it depreciated by 0.6 percent against the Chinese renminbi and 0.2 percent against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, over the twelve-month period to October 2025, the Pula depreciated by 1.7 percent each against the SDR and the South African rand. Against SDR constituent currencies, the Pula depreciated by 6.1 percent against the euro, 0.8 percent against the British pound and 0.1 percent against the Chinese renminbi. However, it appreciated by 1.3 percent against the Japanese yen and 0.6 percent against the US dollar.
